Music
FUMC of Pflugerville has a wonderful variety of musical groups for adults, youth and children. There is something for all ages and every musical background. Below is a short description of our various groups and contact information for each.

Music for Adults
Chancel Choir - This ensemble provides musical leadership for the traditional service at PFUMC. This includes leading the hymns, singing introits and anthems, and presenting cantatas for special services once or twice each year. The Chancel Choir is a group of people who have a passion for worshiping God through music and song. The initial ability to read music is not required.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the choir room (located in the sanctuary building). An informal rehearsal for those who feel they would like extra help with the music is held on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m., and a full rehearsal for the worship service is held at 10:15 a.m. in the choir room. Attendance at the Wednesday rehearsals is essential to building the ensemble. This group is open to all adults and youth, ages 16 and up. Please contact the Chancel Choir Director for more information regarding the chancel choir.
Praise bands - These groups of contemporary Christian musicians are our music leadership for the 8:15 worship service each Sunday. The groups consists of both regulars and drop-in members. There are two bands leading worship on alternating Sundays. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6:30 and Thursdays at 7:00. Both groups are always looking for new people who want to share their talents and are very open to all different forms of worship music. Pflaming Glory - This is a more serious and concert-oriented praise band which is sponsored by the church. This band takes the Word into the world by playing at town festivals, restaurants and fund-raisers. The group is always looking for new venues. Music for Children
Cherub Choir - This group is for pre-school aged children, toddlers through kindergarten. Rehearsals are held during the Sunday School hour as part of the Sunday School curriculum. Your child is invited to join the group in occasional presentations in the worship services held on Sunday mornings.

Praise Power - This group is open to all children in grades one through five. Praise Power rehearsals are held every Sunday evening from 5:00PM to 6:00PM in the choir room. We meet to share with each other, have snacks and enjoy singing songs of God. This group presents music in Sunday morning worship several times throughout the year.

Music for Youth
Youth Choir - We are starting a Youth Choir in the fall,
2008! This group will be open to youth in grades six through twelve. If you
are interested in being involved in the formation of this group, please
contact choir director Philip Smith!
From The Dust - This is a youth praise band that performs in worship, at UMYF (United Methodist Youth Foundation) meetings, and at various youth functions around our district. This talented group consists of youth in 8th – 12th grade and specializes in contemporary Christian music. Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons from 3:15-4:45.
